  1. My opinion on the clip was that their body posture really went with the music. I like the lion king lol. Anyway, I also think the outfits where nice too. The one thing i could take from this for my own song would be the body structure and movement they do when they sing. It really stands out to me. Well that is what i liked in the clip......bwai!! ^^

  2. First of all, I love the Lion King musical, and I've seen this clip many times before. The hand motions and face expressions were strongly used. When you look at their eyes, you notice them looking up, which hints that they're talking to and about the god above (in this case, Mufasa). Their emotions change with the tempo of the song, as well. When the tempo got faster, happiness (smiles) and more excitement grew out of them. Well, from watching all of these performances, I know that I must incorporate face expressions, body motions, and manage the volume of my voice to the mood of the song. I learned that the acting part of performing is really important to help expose the story and meaning of the song.

  3. I, unfortunately, never got the chance to see the Lion King musical. I wish I have though! This musical is beautiful, and the costuming is absolutely amazing! In the Lion King, the actors had to behave animal like and that is exactly what they did. They became their characters, even though obviously, they are not animals themselves. From this clip I learned that I have to become my character, I can't just sing it, but I have to actually become that character. Hopefully I will be able to see the Lion King musical live, but for now I guess I will just have to use YouTube. :)

  4. I really liked this clip. It reminded me of the scene int he movie when simba's dad is already dead and he's looking at the stars and see's his dad in the stars. I really liked the vocals in these people. And the song was really good. It was different to me, than other broadway songs. It sounded like a real song. I was only disapointed when baby simba didn't sing because I really thought he was. I mean his mouth was open during the whole performance and not one note! But I really liked the drums in this song. And that weirdo woman was my favorite. There makeup was sick dude!

  5. I love this show!!!
I got to see it when it came to Hawaii and it was simply amazing. I love the use of costumes. It really helps to enhance the emotion of the story. Its amazing how much the emotion shows through in this piece, you can really feel the love that the lion has for his cub. This show was completely amazing when I got to see it and I wish I could have seen the actual Broadway show,

  6. I have scene this musical 3 times and every time I still get attached, the actors are so good, they let you feel as if you are there. I love that they don't just pay attention to their singing, but more to their acting. Take the little boy for instance He didn't sing at all but you could just imagine how he was feeling.
And their voices are so powerful that they dont even have to try and project, it just comes out so naturally.

  8. It was really amazing. They may have no props, but they make up for it in expression and thee power of their voices. The little simba's acting was so real and life like and the older simba had a powerful voice and feeling. But Rafiki was the best, you gotta love her enthusiasm.

  9. Arghhhhhh!!! I really wished I watched the Lion King now. That song was very good. The body motions were great, especially with the little boy (That could be my age). The voices were great very good, strong voices. The dance was cool. It really felt like a grade a+ musical. I'm still mad I never saw it >:(

  10. This clip of the Lion King on Broadway is absolutely amazing. The actors put so much soul and feeling into what they are singing. From their expressions and motions, it makes understanding the lyrics even easier. They all exactly played their character very well. I could watch hours of the Lion King. What really stood out to me was their eye contact. That's probably the one thing I could definitely use to help me in my personal songs.

  11. I thought that this performance was wonderful, and I really liked it. I thought that their acting was excellent and they showed their emotions through their acting and singing very well. Simba's performance was awesome because he was very natural, calm and collected. Their singing was exciting, compelling, and very moving. This is a classic story, and I have watched the disney movie, but I did not watch the broadway play although I would have really liked to. It is my hope that I will watch more plays as time goes on. By watching different plays, I hope to get some tips and improve my acting as well.

  12. My opinion of this clip was that it was amazing. I have always loved the Lion King. I think the costumes in this preformance are cool. They really grabbed my attention and helped make the preformance more interesting. I loved the message behind this song. From this preformance I learned how hand motions really help a preformance. The hand motions these preformers were making helped to potray their emotion and helped tell the story. I really enjoyed this clip.

  13. I remember when we bought tickets for Lion King in 2007 when I wasn't familiar with the term Broadway. It was just 'okay I'll go' and didn't think much of it. Then as they started the show, I knew this was different for anything I've ever seen. The costumes and make-up are insane, the music we've loved as a child was taken to a whole different level. It was as if you were taken back to the first time you saw the movie as a child, everything felt new and unexpected.
Simba, the cub had me think of what we've been learning in acting because he said absolutely nothing, but at the same time you were aware of his emotions. That is something I would love to apply to my acting as a performer.
