This is one of my favorite songs from Aida, except I don't like Adam Pascal's voice. It's kind of painful to listen to. It sounds scratchy, and that annoys me. On the other hand, Heather Headley's voice is strong and gives me the chills. Watching and giving my opinions on these performances over the last two months made me a stronger critic. I used to always compliment and encourage the pros, and ignore the cons because I thought I would be too harsh, but then I learned that as I point out the cons, I learn from them, so I could avoid them in my future performances.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really great and emotional song. Both Heather Headley and Adam Pascal's voices were very powerful. I really felt for them as they were singing. Each of their voices are very unique like how Adam's voice is very vibraty (Sorry couldn't think of the right word)when he sings his parts and Heater's voice is elegant, but powerful at the same time. Their facial expressions were alright in my opinion, but it just was not as strong as their voices.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could have watched the other musical awards on 2001 to see if any other song could beat this song.
This is also one of my favorite songs from Aida, the reason why I like it is because it has so much emotion, and even if you didn't see the musical you can already see that they had something between them.
ReplyDeleteI love how both of them are such good actors that can have such great emotion with just a flick of a swich.
I love this song! When I first heard it I went straight home and downloaded it and put it on repeat. The song is really emotional and it's about two people who cannot be together. It's really sad, but I love it! I wish that I watched AIDA, it seems like a good musical to see. I like it when Heather and Adam sing together at the end because it's so powerful and it always gives me goosebumps. I would love to sing that song one day. :)
ReplyDeleteThe woman's voice is nasaly, but all in all I really loved their performance. ^o^ It really is beautiful, and so very passionate! Wow. I mean, really. It's just beautiful. The emotion they show between them in the piece is nicely chemic. They connected well with each other, but I'm not sure if they won. Did they? It was a little pathetic, but I teared up a little during their song. TT___TT
ReplyDeleteI never actually heard any AIDA song except for the one that cassidy always sings. It was a really beautifull song and the emotions were clearly shown. it was downright awesome, I bet it would make anyone of the audience members tear up. It wold have been better if the womans voice did'nt sound like she had a cold, it was so nasaly.
ReplyDeletethey were a good group of singers but personally i doubt i would listen to it again great voices though kind of emotional i wonder if they won hmhmmhmmhmh? oh well anyways so yea same thing i said above good group not very good song i liked them though and i wish i could have been there for sure
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed watching this video. The preformers all had very nice sounding voices. I agree with Abbey the woman's voice was a little nasaly. But other than that it was a good song. I didn't really like it at the beggining. But towards the end it got better and I started enjoying it more because I liked the dynamic between the singers. Then, it was over.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen AIDA before, but after this I just might! I have always loved Adam Pascal in any role he plays, this is just another in a long long list of amazing roles. I also really like Heather Headley, I have only seen her a few times but she is great. Both of these singers are amazing in their own rights. You could really feel the emotion in every single word of the song. I thought it was amazing.

I liked the intensity between the two singers in this video, and their performance was really well executed. Duet songs are always very interesting if performed well. These two singers were awesome because the two singers maintained their I contact throughout the entire song. And I especially liked it when they synchronized their voices towards the end of the song. It was as if they weren't only singing their song but they were also feeling their song. The emotion expressed was excellent.
ReplyDeleteIt didn't really sound like a musical type song to me. When the woman sang it sounded more R&B and when the man sang it sounded more country. I really liked this duet. Its beautiful. These people have some pretty powerful voices. And they blend really well together. If you notice even the conductor in the back is jamming. I think if i had paid more attention then I would have felt it more. But even with the non paying attention i still felt a little bit.
ReplyDeleteThere were some parts that I really didn't like when Heather Headley sang. I started to really like her voice at the end of the song though. Adam Pascal on the other hand, had a REALLY nice voice. They both made singing that song look really easy because it didn't seem like it caused much effort for them to hit the notes. I thought this was a nice song. It reminds me of a song that would close a show just from how it was performed and how it sounds. I like it.
