I really don't like this song all that much. It's too slow for my liking. Really the only Kenny Loggins song that I really like is "Footlose", but that's typical. The guitar in this song is rather soft. Loggins voice is so strong that, his singing is my main focus. If I had to guess one cord that would be in "This Island Earth" it would be a C chord, but I wouldn't bet my life on it. The reason I think that there is a C chord, is due to the fact that C has a distinct sharp sound, and I think I distinguished that in the song.
ReplyDeleteI don't like this song much at all. I think the more I listen to it the more I would get used to it. BUt I don't want to listen to it anymore. I feel like the g and c chord are used a lot on this song. Its pretty slow paced and comforting which is what those strings are to me. I'm not exactly sure, so don't trust me. But I guess i have really strong feeling about it. I would like to find out what the real chords are. But the song isn't that popular. I mean it doesn't even have a music video...
ReplyDeleteI had a great deal of trouble trying to figure out the chords for this song, mostly because this song is so complex. Also, Kenny loggins voice is very loud in comparison to the song; this makes it really hard to hear the chords. I could only hear one chord, the first chord, with some clarity. That chord was an A chord. I think it fits with the soft mood of the song. I wish that Kenny loggins was better known so that we could find the chords for this song.

I do not really like to kind of music and this song. I have never heard of Kenny Loggins before. The first time I heard of him was last week in the assembly when Mr. Bruno was talking about him coming to Ara. It is very difficult to find the chords of this song because his voice is so loud I can barely hear the guitar. I wish I could tell what the chords are so I can play it because it is very soothing but I am not good at figuring out the chords in songs.
ReplyDeleteI really don't care much for this song. It's too slow and it's just not my type of music I like. I really had a difficult time trying to figure out the chords, I could barely figure out just one chord. It was difficult for me because Kenny Loggins voice is so strong and it over powers, so I couldn't really hear the chords very well. Also I find the song complicated. I guess I’ll have to try harder to figure out the chords.
