  1. I love the fact that these acting activities are helpful, yet enjoyable. I learn something new every time we do an activity, and with that, I use it as a motivation to help me improve my next acting performance. Finding a character and "the moment before" always travels through my mind now. I find myself opening up a lot more as well, which is a plus. Out of the three, I would have to say that I enjoy etudes the best. Especially the audition exercise we did last class. That was a lot of fun.

  2. I learned a lot from all of these excercises, etudes, improv games, and the mock auditions! Some things I learned from these excercises are the "Moment before" which is very crucial to making a good scene. Also actually learning how to open a door was another thing that I learned. Finally keeping things real is something that would have to be very important in making a scene good. I still need to work on that. I really like these things and everytime I learn something new from them!!!

  3. I think that all of these acting exercises are helping us expand out depth as actors. But think that all of us are learning a great deal from the ETUDES in particular. They help us to better understand how important it is to know who you are in the scene and how you relate to everyone else. They really seem to help me open up and get more involved in the scene that I’m trying to work. Of all of these things I like the ETUDES the best.

  4. Im starting to learn a great deal from these things. The one thing that has stuck with me, is that the very first line you say basically makes your peice. Wether its an audition or you are actually working. When you read your script you need to be thinking about the type of person your charracter is and how you are going to portray them. I really like the impovs because basically there the easiest for me..and they are really fun.
    And I like the scene work because it helps me learn how to work things in new scenarious.

  5. Hmm, an ETUDE is when you give us a script, right? I think so….but anyway. The Improv and ETUDE exercises are actually quite fun. I think I’m really beginning to enjoy this class. Like, a little too much. ^_^;
    The ETUDE (if that’s the right word, ‘cause I’m still not shore ‘bout it) from Out of Jimmy’s Head reminded me of that movie, which I hadn’t thought about since I watched it. So I watched it again via the internets, and let loose just laughing at the epiclesis. =D I’m beginning to work out the vocabulary for actor/actresses, and starting to understand their point of view on things even more.

  7. I enjoy all of the activities and I especially enjoy the improv exercise since it allows me to be creative. Etudes are good because you have to decide what type of character you are and you have less than a min. to get the jest and just go right off the bat. I hope we can do more!

  8. I absolutely love etudes because I like being given lines and determining the characters. I was never really good at improv, and I know I still have to improve a lot. Improvs teach me how to think on my feet and I think that's a really good quality to have. I'm starting to understand the importance of being more realistic and not having to always go over the top. I also learned that I have to take chances because I'm scared of being embarassed but I'm learning that I have to push past that limit, and just go for it.

  9. The ETUDE and improv exercises are teaching me valuable lessons about acting, and with each new scene, I learn more and more. Acting is proving to be very enjoyable, and slowly I am opening up. I now realize that confidence is a very important quality to have while doing acting. If one is not confident while doing acting, then they wouldn't really be a good actor/actress. Another important lesson that I learned in acting is that the moment before a scene is very important to set the mood and the setting during a performance.

  10. The Improves are helping me alot because Im learning another way to express myself threw my actions, and they also help me with the play that were in, and that i need to make myself standout from the others.

  11. I am learning a lot from The ETUDES, Improv, and other scene exercises. I have learned that good actresses and actors make things "real" and believable. They don't over act. They think about the relationship between their character and the other characters in the scene before they start acting. I have also learned that during ETUDES the moment before is important so the audience knows what your character is.

    So yeah I am learning a lot.

  12. ETUDES, improv, and scene exercises help me to think more about what I'm doing and about what's going on around me. The more I do it, it seems like it gets easier. There are moments where I totally have an idea of what to do, but it's not my turn to perform, and when I have an idea when it is my turn, the idea usually goes away once I begin. It's frustrating sometimes. The main points that I'm beginning to understand is to be real. "Less is more", I seem to always hear that in class.

  13. I love working on ETUDES and improv. I’ve been trying to get better about being more opened and just going for the first idea that comes to me. ETUDES are more of a challenge, but I’m starting to learn more as I go along. Scene work really take your interpretation on how you see the layout and gets you to think of who your character really is. Something actors don’t show is themselves because they’re in character. Such as when I was reading the scrip from 'The Office', I really had to think about what type of people Kelly and Meredith are, and how I should use the moment before to show it was them.
